Code Engine Studio (CES) was founded in 2014 by a Canadian entrepreneur who believed that the best businesses don't just create value — they create meaning. Not as a tagline, but as a way of operating in the world. For him, success was never the destination. It was the starting point for something more important: building great things with great people, creating work that matters, and contributing something genuinely valuable to the world.
A decade in, we're evolving and we're doing it with purpose. Code Engine Studio is transforming from a traditional software engineering service company into an AI-first company. That means we're not just helping clients navigate AI transformation, we're actively reshaping how we work ourselves: how we build, solve problems, collaborate, and create value every day.
We work in English, serve international clients, and operate with a mindset that transcends borders. Our team is curious, adaptable, and constantly learning as technology evolves. For the right person, this is a rare opportunity to grow inside a company that is not standing still, but actively reinventing itself for what's next.
Our values show up in the way we act. These aren't aspirations. They're just how things work here.
- Pursuit of Excellence: We don't settle — we push for better, and we hold each other to that standard.
- Hungry to Learn: We stay curious, stay humble, and never stop growing.
- Humbly Listen, Bravely Speak: We listen to understand — not just to respond — and we speak honestly even when it's uncomfortable.
- We Before Me: And when something goes wrong, no one looks for someone to blame — we look for a way forward, together.
Underneath everything is something harder to articulate but easy to feel once you're here: WE CARE. Not as a policy, not as a perk — but as the quiet force behind every decision we make. We care whether our clients truly succeed. We care about the world we're all building together. And we care about you — not just the work you do, but who you're becoming

We are hiring a Junior QA Engineer with 1–2 years of experience to join a dedicated team serving a US-based client that builds a real-time clinical trial oversight platform.
The role is a hybrid of two areas:
- Software testing: test the client's web platform and mobile apps across multiple environments and releases, with a focus on functional and regression testing.
- Data quality audit: audit manual data entries and changes, reconcile data across sources, and keep traceable records so data feeding the platform stays accurate, consistent and compliant.
You will work directly with the client's US team in English and with our internal QA and development team. This role fits someone who already knows the QA basics and wants to grow in a regulated, data-sensitive domain.
1. Software Testing (Web & Mobile)
- Review requirements and user stories; clarify gaps with BA, PO and developers before testing starts.
- Write and maintain test cases and test checklists based on acceptance criteria.
- Execute functional, UI, regression and smoke tests on the web platform and mobile apps (iOS/Android) across multiple environments (dev, staging, production) and deployments.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing.
- Run regression test cycles for each release to ensure platform updates do not break existing functions.
- Support basic API testing (e.g., Postman) to verify data flows between front end and back end.
2. Data Quality Audit & Reconciliation
- Audit manual data entries and data changes for accuracy, integrity and compliance with operational standards.
- Reconcile data from multiple sources (e.g., platform data vs. source files/reports) to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed, traceable records of verified changes for QC reviews and audits.
- Confirm data corrections with the responsible teams and follow up until closure.
3. Defect & Issue Management
- Log clear, reproducible bugs and data issues in the issue tracking system (e.g., Jira), with steps, evidence and severity.
- Verify fixes and perform re-testing; track issues through their full lifecycle.
- Report test and audit results to the QA Lead and client stakeholders.
4. Collaboration & Process
- Communicate daily with the client's US team and internal team in English (written and verbal).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
- Contribute to improving test documentation, checklists and quality processes.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in software QA/testing (manual testing).
- Hands-on experience testing web applications; exposure to mobile app testing (iOS/Android).
- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/, and the defect lifecycle.
- Able to write clear test cases and bug reports.
- Experience with an issue tracking tool (e.g., Jira).
- English: able to read and write technical documents and communicate with a US client (meetings, chat, email).
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, with strong ownership and a proactive attitude toward resolving issues.
Nice to Have
- API testing experience with Postman or similar tools.
- Familiarity with BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) and Gherkin syntax.
- Basic knowledge of test automation (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium).
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, clinical trials or other regulated domains (e.g., fintech).
- Awareness of data integrity principles (e.g., ALCOA+) or GxP/GCP compliance.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
- Good Excel/Google Sheets skills (filters, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables) for data comparison and reconciliation.
- Basic SQL to query and validate data.
