Job description
As an Analog Design Intern on the AMS COMPHY team, you will gain hands-on experience with the complete analog integrated circuit (IC) design process, from initial specifications through tape-out, working with advanced CMOS technologies. Project assignments will depend on product development schedules and your technical interests.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Build a solid foundation in analog IC design, including MOSFET, FinFET, and GAA device characteristics, noise and distortion, feedback and stability, and fully differential circuit architectures.
- Analyze circuit specifications and assist in designing and simulating fundamental analog circuit blocks, such as amplifiers, operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs), current mirrors, comparators, and low-dropout regulators (LDOs).
- Perform schematic-level and post-layout simulations using industry-standard EDA tools, such as Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre, including process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) corner analysis and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Help optimize circuit designs to achieve target performance while balancing noise, power consumption, and chip area.
- Assist with circuit behavior analysis and mixed-mode simulations, as well as silicon evaluation and characterization when applicable.
- Take part in weekly technical reading sessions, presentations, and design reviews, and maintain clear documentation of design activities and results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including layout, verification, validation, and CAD, while learning from mentors and experienced engineers.
